CAPTAIN RON KOWALYK
Born May 30, 1946 in Cleveland Ohio. Education: Attended Cleveland Institute of Art 1964-68., att. University of Texas at Austin 69-70. Recieved a BFA from Cleveland State Univ. 1974. Completed his MFA from Ohio Univ. 1990.
TAUGHT ART AT THE UNIVERSITY LEVEL
Univ.of Texas, Cooper School of Art, Cuyahoga Comm. College Cleve .O., Cleve State Univ., Ohio Univ., Edison Community College. Conducted numerous workshops in ceramics and painting for the California Designers and Craftsman, Ohio Designers and Craftsman. Recieved Ohio Art Consul Grant 1975. Recieves numerous best of show and honorable mention awards in professional art competions including the May Show of the Cleveland Museum of Art, Ohio Designers and Craftsman, Texas Designers and Craftsman, California Designers and Craftsman.
PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE
Conducted sculpture and ceramic studio work in Los Gatos California, exhibited widely in San Francisco, Calfornia area and at the E. B. Crocker Gallery, Sacramento Calf.. Creative Director of Watershed Potteries, Dashi Pottery and his own private studios over the past 25 yrs. Presently painting and making ceramics from his home studio in Ft. Myers, Florida. Currently working on sportfishing oriented wildlife paintings and waterscapes, as well as ceramic mural projects.
